CHATTY TWOSOME under construction
No, I am not finished with summer yet and actually with all sales of winter pansies on right now it may be some time before I pack it in!!My latest piece, Chatty Twosome, grew out of some work I am doing on composition. I had some great pictures of pansies and I wanted to experiment with different compositions. The first picture started out with great promise but quickly turned on me. As you can see from the layout, the composition didn’t work and so I started to crop away. (I know you saw what I did to my birds in my Sept 26 post "Hacked and Burned; I am really becoming lethal with my scissors.) My goal is to work with different compositions so nothing is sacred! When I was finished, this chatty little twosome emerged.
CHATTY TWOSOME - 3.5 x 3.5 - Available
More pansies are on the board with my next post as I am using the same subject to force myself to try different approaches.
(As an aside, you can also see from the unfinished areas the effects of my glazing on the background. It started off very light and multicoloured but it seemed to gain more richness and depth the more layers I put on.)

Hi Wendy, What a lovely little painting, is this for Place des Arts Show
Great save, Wendy. I've made some ACEO's out of some less than perfect larger paintings. And then
there are some I wish I had saved to do just that with but had already torn them to shreds.
It is looking great Wendy. I love the title! Sorry I missed you last night. I would have liked to seen your demo.
The cropping did wonders, Wendy! It's beautiful.
Hi Brenda, no this Chatty little twosome is too big to be a miniature. They are headed for other shows.
Carol, yes I know what you mean, some pictures your emotions get the best of you and they are gone before you realize they can be saved. I loved those pansies and I guess that really helped them survive.
Leslie, I was sorry to missed you. You are a marketing whiz but thank you for your support.
Thanks Katheryn (Studio) as you can see I am really into the cropping mode now!!
Wendy this is a lovely work, I love the layers and colours.
Beautiful work Wendy. It's good to be home and catching up with your lovely work.
Wendy, your work is always beautifully done! I love how the flowers really seem to be deep in conversation - love the title.
Thank you Gillian, Dors and Donna. Yes Gillian, this layers thing is new to me and it is amazing how the picture changes with each layer. Dors it is good to have you back, that was quite a trip you were on. I look forward to seeing some of your new work. Donna, glad you like the title, I was pleased with it as well. Some how it did look like an interesting conversation was happening with those two.
