SHORELINE VISITOR - 4 x 3 - $140 Framed
My Huron series continues. I am really excited about this little one as
I tried a new blue. I know I need to get
a life but . . . I don’t usually use cerulean blue. I may add it as an accent colour in my water
but never as a main focus. I was reading
about it in one of my books and thought I would give it a try. I just love the grays I got for my distance
mountains and it really brought my driftwood and shoreline waters to life. I can really feel the wet surface of those
logs in the shadows and I love the rich, slick surface caught in the sun. I will definitely have to use this colour
again.
I have been rereading one of my are books
on Painting Nature in Watercolour and it does have some interesting colour
mixtures that are I don’t usually use.
Wait till you see the next one: Paynes Gray, Yellow Ochre added to Cerulean
Blue. Really neat grays! It’s not finished yet but already looking
good!

Thanks Brenda, I must admit I have a whole new respect for cerulean blue now!
