SHORELINE VISITOR - 4 x 3 - $140 Framed
My Huron series continues. I am really excited about this little one as I tried a new blue. I know I need to get a life but . . . I don’t usually use cerulean blue. I may add it as an accent colour in my water but never as a main focus. I was reading about it in one of my books and thought I would give it a try. I just love the grays I got for my distance mountains and it really brought my driftwood and shoreline waters to life. I can really feel the wet surface of those logs in the shadows and I love the rich, slick surface caught in the sun. I will definitely have to use this colour again.I have been rereading one of my are books on Painting Nature in Watercolour and it does have some interesting colour mixtures that are I don’t usually use. Wait till you see the next one: Paynes Gray, Yellow Ochre added to Cerulean Blue. Really neat grays! It’s not finished yet but already looking good!
