Christmas Cats ready to Shine for Christmas

NEW WORKS FROM THE STUDIO OF ART BY WENDY

CHRISTMAS CATS - 10 x 16   Available

Ta da!!  I did it!! My cats are done and ready for the show.  As soon as they were finished I was busy photographing them and setting up the cards.  I even cropped the picture and made some Christmas Tags with them.  My little cats were a real hit at the final show of the year and now they are  off in the mail to family and friends.

I was very pleased with my cats, particularly the background.  I have always found backgrounds a challenge.  I suspect it is because I am so focused on the main subject and where and what I am going to do with it that somehow the background becomes less than secondary.  Working in layers, using the negative and pulling out things really helps me to stay loose and not get caught up in too much detail.  I particulary love the colour that I can introduce to really build my connection with the focal point.

Well I do want to wish everyone a
Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year. May next year be a very successful artful year for you.

Hey that is great, I can't believe how fast the mail is, even at this time of the year. Have a good Christmas Brenda.

These turned out beautifully, Wendy! Also glad your show and fundraiser in the Garden Greenhouse turned out so well. Looked like a fabulous venue. Happy Holidays to you too!

Very beautiful! I love the light and shadow on the cats.

Thanks Florence, I was amazed at how the layers of glazing developed those shadows in such a sutle way. It seemed like I wasn't doing anything and then suddenly they were there.
